01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Thick, flat noodles coated in a rich, numbing-spicy sauce and fragrant citrus zest define the signature brothless dandan noodles at Yuzu Lab. Minced meat, nuts, and crisp mizuna greens lend texture, while an accompanying side of fresh yuzu juice and diced tomatoes cuts through the richness with a sharp, vibrant acidity. Heat and numbing sensations can be tuned to taste, with chili pepper and Sichuan pepper on the counter for adjusting the punch mid-bowl.

Pairing the noodles with a side bowl of chashu pork rice makes for a hearty meal. The savory pork is enjoyable on its own, but stirring the rice straight into the remaining sauce and minced toppings after finishing the noodles creates a deeply satisfying finale. The wider noodle selection also includes dipping tsukemen and zhajiangmian.

For drinks, the shop serves yuzu wine, which brings a light, refreshing note that balances the peppery noodles without being overly sweet—an unusual match for a noodle counter. Located on the 2th floor of its building, the interior is centered on counter seats, providing a relaxed and approachable stop for lunch or dinner.
